Tuttee Fruttee Coffee

Run by Shem Leupin, the 2013 Swiss Barista Champion, and chef Thomas Leuenberger, Tuttee Fruttee Coffee fits a serious coffee program into a small storefront on Grüngasse in the Werd quarter. Leupin sources green coffee for Stoll Kaffee, which supplies the shop, and the menu names real lots, such as a washed Peru from Cajamarca and an anaerobic Rwanda from Gasharu on espresso, with a natural Peru Gesha and a honey processed Colombia from El Silencio on filter.

The counter pairs the coffee with banana bread, yogurt cakes and pastries from John Baker, plus homemade chai and fruit limonades, and beer, wine or cider are on the menu too. Sidewalk seating makes it an easy stop on a walk through Werd, and the pared back look of the room lets the cup do the talking.
