Lamassu

At the foot of the Leonhardstreppe stairs on Weinbergstrasse, Lamassu is a boutique coffee counter founded in 2020 by a coffee enthusiast, an osteopath and an artist, with neon artwork by the local duo Baltensperger and Siepert glowing over a marble bar. Beans come from Henauer and Miró alongside small in house roasts by head barista Mangkus, and the focus is carefully brewed filter coffee, single origin espresso and cold brew tonic.

There is room for just a few people to stand, which gives the place an intimate, friendly buzz that suits a quick flat white on the way through the university quarter or a slower filter before work. Plant based milks and food options keep the counter welcoming for everyone.
