Kraftwerk Cafe & Bar

Set inside a former EWZ power station by the Sihl river, now repurposed as an Impact Hub coworking space, Kraftwerk trades on its building's industrial bones more than most Zurich cafes even attempt to — exposed machinery-era architecture, shipping-container work pods, and a scale that reads more like a small event venue than a coffee counter. Coffee comes from a rotating outside roaster rather than an in-house program, and sources disagreed on exactly which one supplies the current lot, which fits a space that's more about the room and the coworking crowd using it than about roasting credentials.
Hours run late by cafe standards — open into the evening Thursday and Friday — which suits its dual identity as cafe by day and bar by night for the coworking tenants and neighborhood crowd who treat it as a base rather than a quick stop. Closed weekends entirely, unusual for a cafe this size, which underlines that its core audience is the workweek coworking crowd rather than weekend visitors.
