Cogito Coffee Deželićeva

Matija Belković and Hannah Powlison Belković opened Cafe u Dvorištu, a quiet courtyard cafe in downtown Zagreb, back in 2011, when the city had only one or two places serious about coffee. The Cogito roastery launched alongside it in 2014, and the team soon added Matija Hrkac, a three time Croatian Barista Champion and 2012 World Barista Championship finalist, growing the operation into what's now considered Croatia's leading specialty roaster.

The Deželićeva room is one of several Cogito cafes around the city, each pouring the roastery's own beans by the cup alongside retail bags, brewing equipment, and merchandise to take home. The roastery also bottles its own canned cold brew, a fixture on menus well beyond its own cafes.
