Peach Coffee

A barista pouring hot water over a V60 dripper at the counter, with stacked cups, straws, and brewing gear lined up on the bar

Momozaki Yu discovered coffee in high school, trained at a specialty coffee school, and worked as a store manager for a Tokyo coffee venture and as a barista before starting Peach Coffee as a personal brand at a market stall in autumn 2022. After running monthly pop ups at a shared space called Akinai Garden in Gumyoji, he opened this permanent shop with local partner Amano Yui, choosing the Komyoji Kannon shopping street over a Tokyo expansion because the mix of longtime residents and young newcomers felt like a place worth building something small in.

Coffee comes from a rotating set of roasters around Japan chosen for fruit forward character, poured as filter, espresso and seasonal drinks such as a sakura matcha latte with cherry blossom syrup. The shop doubles as an informal information counter for the shopping street, hanging work from local artists and serving cookies and small seasonal sweets alongside the coffee rather than running as a straightforward cafe.
