Via Volcan Coffee

Via Volcan grows its own coffee on a family farm on the slopes of the Baru Volcano in Chiriqui, Panama, and roasts it in a micro roastery in Old Town Alexandria. The farm produces Geisha and Caturra at about fifteen hundred meters in volcanic soil, and the family handles the work from planting and sun drying to export, so the shop does not buy green coffee from outside vendors.
The cafe pours the two coffees and sells them by the bag. The Geisha is roasted light for a floral, delicate cup with a suggestion of honey, and the Caturra is a medium roast with chocolate undertones and bright acidity. Both are roasted in small batches, and subscriptions are available for regular delivery. The shop and roastery share a space on South West Street and open every day, with long hours on Friday and Saturday.
