Żona Krawca

Five cake slices, including pistachio, lavender, and white chocolate flavors, arranged on mismatched plates from above at Żona Krawca

Żona Krawca, Polish for the tailor's wife, opened on Kamionkowska in August 2016 in a space that had spent years as an actual tailor's workshop, and the name and interior both grew straight out of that history. Upholstered furniture and bolts of fabric used as seat backs carry the reference through the room, a neighborhood cafe built around a hearty breakfast menu of scrambled eggs, focaccia toast with a poached egg, shakshuka, and French toast.

A second Praga location opened on Podskarbińska in August 2022, alongside a dedicated pastry workshop that now supplies both. Dogs are welcome inside year round and out in the seasonal garden when it's open, one more piece of the neighborly, unshowy feel the place has built its name on.
