Filtry Dobra Kawa

Opened in 2012 by Konrad Konstantynowicz, Filtry is widely credited as the first specialty coffee cafe in Poland, and its founder spent years training many of the baristas now working across Warsaw and running public cuppings of beans he brought back from origin trips himself. The cafe has since rebranded on social media to Filtry Dobra Kawa, a change that followed the loss of its original web domain.

The Stara Ochota room has stayed close to its neighborhood roots: free wifi, newspapers, books, and board games fill the space, with a summer garden open when the weather allows. Fair Trade decaf, chocolate, and tea sit alongside the standard specialty coffee menu, and homemade cakes and fresh sandwiches draw a steady stream of regulars, kids, and dogs alike.
