CaffèCouture

Pink CaffèCouture retail bean bags lined up on a marble counter inside Palais Ferstel

Set inside the historic Palais Ferstel shopping passage just off Freyung, CaffèCouture opened in 2010 as one of the first true showroom style specialty counters in Vienna, when the original space held just one espresso machine, two grinders, a single table, and nothing resembling a menu beyond espresso or coffee with milk. Founder Georg Branny is Austria's 2008 National Barista Champion and a multiple time national titleholder across several coffee disciplines, credentials that show in a program built around precision rather than volume.

Roasting now happens at a dedicated facility in the 9th district, with this Palais Ferstel address functioning as the brew bar and retail outpost for the operation. Bagged beans and equipment are sold on site. A quiet counter tucked into one of Vienna's grander 19th-century arcades.
