BASƎ (Garage Coffee Bros.)

Brothers Davide and Andrea Cobelli built Garage Coffee Bros into a roastery in Verona before opening BASƎ, their retail cafe, in May 2022 under the stone pinnacles of Castelvecchio, a fortress dating to the 1300s. Davide, the 2020 Italian Roasting Champion and seventh place finisher at the 2022 World Roasting Championship, roasts every lot from a fresh, current harvest rather than holding older stock, and the shop publishes a Farmgate Price alongside each coffee, stating plainly what the producer was actually paid. The name plays on an inverted E, a nod to the logical symbol meaning there exists at least one, a small joke about proving the shop is really there.
Coffee Expert Giulia Simoni runs the counter most days, with Gabija and Simone covering shifts and the Cobelli brothers dropping in themselves from time to time. The menu runs from straight espresso and V60 through cold brew, nitro cold brew, nitro cascara and an espresso and tonic, alongside a late breakfast built around locally sourced cookies, with oat and potato based plant milk on offer. A five minute walk from the Verona Arena, the shop is card only, no cash accepted.
