Goppion Caffè Rialto

Goppion has been roasting coffee since 1948, when the family bought a small roaster in Treviso after founder Angelo Goppion first fell for exceptional beans while running a grocery business in Ethiopia. Five generations later the company still roasts its own plantation lots, and this shop near the Rialto Market, run day to day by the Kraja family under the Goppion name, is where that roasting shows up as an actual cup rather than a bag on a supermarket shelf.

Alongside espresso and cappuccino the counter stocks single origins and the Espresso di Piantagione line, plantation specific lots kept separate rather than folded into a house blend, plus a wall of coffee makers in every size for anyone who wants to keep brewing the same beans back home. It sits on a street thick with foot traffic between the market and the bridge, but rather than the overpriced tourist stop the location might suggest, it is a genuine find, with locals returning often enough to carry loyalty cards.
