Caffè Cannaregio

This canal side room on Fondamenta dei Ormesini has roasted its own beans since 1930, making it the last coffee roastery still working inside Venice's historic center. A 1940s drum roaster turns green beans bought from Guatemala, Ethiopia, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, and Costa Rica into house blends named Remèr, Bricola, and Miscela del Ghetto, alongside rotating single origin lots that sell for as much as sixty euros a kilo.
Espresso covers the traditional Venetian repertoire, from a macchiato to a venexian and moretto, while filter drinkers can order an Americano, Bunn, V60, or Chemex. Bagged beans line the counter for anyone taking coffee home, and the kitchen turns out breakfast pastries including a well known pistachio croissant. The shop rebranded from Torrefazione Cannaregio to Caffè Cannaregio in 2026, keeping the same address, roaster, and jute sack lined room.
