Nomad Coffee Bar

The sunlit Kitsilano room at Nomad Coffee Bar, with a tall leafy plant growing from a concrete planter between oak tables, black stools and a large window framed by a reclaimed fir beam

Nomad opened its Kitsilano room on Yew Street in March 2024 as a second home for a North Vancouver cafe that built its name on never handing out a single use cup. Drinks arrive in ceramic mugs, or in your own tumbler, or in a returnable fired clay cup, and the habit has kept hundreds of thousands of disposable cups out of landfills since 2022. The space itself is a bright corner of oak, concrete and tall tropical plants, with salvaged century old fir beams holding up a big window.

Coffee here is sourced from local and international roasters, with an espresso bar for daily drinks and a slow bar for pour overs and other alternative brews. The cafe also bakes with rice flour, hosts community nights like photo walks and brewing contests, and has been a stop for the Canadian AeroPress Championship.
