FUNK Coffee Bar

The glass fronted entrance of FUNK Coffee Bar at 1025 Dunsmuir Street, with the pink FUNK coffee bar sign above the door, a purple neon hands logo in the window and clipped hedges along the patio

FUNK Coffee Bar is the downtown home of House of Funk Roasting Co., a roaster that grew out of a North Vancouver brewery and brings the same love of fermentation and experiments to its coffee. The menu leans toward vibrant, flavour forward lots, with limited drops such as natural Ethiopians and washed Nicaraguans, plus aluminum canned coffees and the occasional barrel aged bean.

The Dunsmuir Street room is spacious and modern, with window bar seating, lounge chairs, a patio, and a pair of work alcoves with noise cancelling curtains for people who need to get things done. It also doubles as a community space, hosting cuppings, coffee painting nights, poetry readings and the Canadian AeroPress Championship.
