Elixir Café

Elixir began with three Colombian siblings, Isabel, María and Carlos, and their friend Sergio, who fell for the third wave idea of coffee that is traceable, kind to the planet and fair to the people who grow it. The Carrer dels Cavallers counter in El Carmen is one of their Valencia homes, a tiny doorway framed by a hanging garden of ivy and monstera leaves, with chalkboards offering specialty coffee to go, cold drip, iced lattes and a coffee lemonade.

The team now roasts its own beans and sells them as whole bean or ground, with a lineup of single origins from Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Brazil plus a Mexican decaf. Their motto, tómate tu tiempo, asks you to take your time, and the brand's direct relationships with producers mean that every cup carries the work of the people behind it.
