Frukt Coffee

The Frukt Coffee storefront window with white lettering reading Frukt Coffee, a barista working behind the counter and a wooden chair and patterned rug visible inside

Frukt roasts single origin lots from small producers in a workshop tucked into the old Kakola prison district, then pours the results a few minutes away at this showroom on Puutarhakatu, inside a building designed by Alvar Aalto. Founder Samuli Pääkkönen trained at Turun Kahvipaahtimo and later at the Coffee Collective in Copenhagen before starting Frukt in 2018, and the showroom carries that pedigree through a short espresso and filter menu built around whatever seasonal lot is currently open.

Bags of the roastery's own coffee sit out for retail next to matcha, tea, and pastries from the neighboring bakery, and the shop runs monthly tastings for anyone curious about where a particular lot came from. The schedule stays tight, open Tuesday through Saturday and shut the rest of the week.
