Tollefsenhjornet

The building at Storgata 49 first opened in 1924 as Tollefsen Kolonial, a grocery run by Lauritz Tollefsen and later his son Kare, who kept it going until 1978. In 2022, Kare's granddaughter Ida Kristine Stephansen reopened the corner space as a cafe, 44 years after the original grocery closed, giving the shop its name.
Tim Wendelboe, the 2004 World Barista Champion and owner of the Oslo coffee bar and roastery that carries his name, is a co owner of the business and supplies its coffee directly from his own roastery. The room runs as a straightforward coffee counter by day and shifts into a wine and beer bar as the evening hours stretch toward midnight on weekends.
