Le Cafe Cerise

Valentin Tihy opened Le Cafe Cerise on the Quai de la Daurade in 2015 after training at La Cafeotheque in Paris and Esperanza cafe in Barcelona, wanting to bring specialty coffee to Toulouse. His wife Stephanie Mirouse Tihy joined soon after to build out the food side, and in 2017 the pair added an onsite roasting workshop two doors down at number 2. The cafe sits in a red brick building looking over the Garonne, with a mezzanine level upstairs that overlooks the room and the river beyond it.

Every coffee on the menu is 100% Arabica and never blended, roasted in house and served as a V60 pour over, a batch brew, or a flat white pulled on the espresso machine. The kitchen turns out granola bowls, salads and sandwiches, plus a daily brunch plate of hot drink, seasonal juice, savory focaccia or pancakes and homemade granola, and the boutique next door sells the roasted beans by the bag.
