Heart's Light Coffee

The glowing wooden bar at Heart's Light Coffee in Shinsen at night, with a copper drum roaster, two grinders, an espresso machine, dripper stations and shelves of vinyl records

Heart's Light Coffee sits on the ground floor of Hills Shibuya, a short walk from Shinsen Station on a quiet side of Shibuya. A copper plated roaster from Turkey, the only one of its kind in Japan, anchors the room, and the shop roasts on it several times a week and lends it to other cafes.

Records are part of the place. Staff choose the music from a large vinyl collection and play it on turntables while they serve, and the beans roasted on the machine are sold by the bag.
