Counterpart Coffee Gallery

A corner of Counterpart Coffee Gallery in Tokyo, with a leafy rubber plant beside wooden topped stools at a window counter, a burlap covered table and a cup of coffee on a ledge

Counterpart Coffee Gallery opened in January 2016 in a residential pocket of Honmachi, a few minutes' walk from Nishi Shinjuku Gochome Station. It is the second shop from Kiyokazu Suzuki, who spent a decade as head roaster and chief barista at Paul Bassett before opening Glitch Coffee in Jimbocho the year before.

The small building has large windows facing the street and a calm, neighbourhood tone. The daily coffee is a single origin that changes with the beans in rotation.
