Roast Factory

Roast Factory occupies a historic canal side building on the Brouwersgracht that once housed Reuser en Smulders, a coffee, tea and tobacco merchant dating back to 1920. Founder Stefan Coster, who started the operation in 2016 delivering coffee by cargo bike under the name JoeJoe before folding the cafe into the Roast Factory name, roasts in small batches next door to the bar and keeps two espresso options and two filter batch brews rotating, one closer to a familiar cup and one more experimental.

Roasting itself happens in view of customers on Mondays and Fridays, letting visitors watch beans go from green to finished roast before it lands in their cup. The coffeebar has a wide terrace along the water and stays open every day except Tuesday.
