Lola Bikes & Coffee

Lola Bikes & Coffee combines a working bicycle repair shop with a coffee bar on Noordeinde, one of the older streets running toward the royal palace grounds. Faded Persian rugs and bicycles hung on the walls give the room a lived in, Dutch domestic feel, and the espresso bar sources ethically traded single origin beans from Bocca Coffee Roasters, including a house Kampala Gold blend tied to bicycle projects in Uganda.

Customers dropping off a bike for a repair get a free cappuccino while they wait, and the shop also rents out bicycles, including tandems, to visitors exploring the city center. It has been running long enough to be one of the earlier specialty coffee spots in the city and keeps long hours seven days a week.
