VWI by CHADWANG

The white corner storefront of VWI by CHADWANG with raised VWI by CHADWANG lettering above glass windows onto the brewing bar

Chad Wang grew up around his father's coffee company before studying nutrition in the UK and training under two former World Barista Champions in Japan. In 2017 he won the World Brewers Cup in Budapest with a natural processed Geisha from Panama, becoming the first person from Taiwan to take that title, then opened this glass fronted room near Zhongxiao Fuxing station a short walk from the station exit.

The name VWI stands for vapor, water, and ice, a nod to how much of a cup is simply water handled with care. Wang built the shop's whole approach around a formula he describes as mostly water and a small fraction of coffee, with staff trained to read each guest before choosing a brew method rather than running a fixed menu. The all white, industrial leaning room sells beans and filter bags to go and takes cards at the register.
