CAFE FUGU Roasters

Lai Chien Tai runs this quiet Xinyi room a short walk from Taipei Medical University, teaching coffee classes at National Chengchi University's student coffee club alongside the bar work. The shop won the Taipei Golden Cup Award's hand brewed category in 2019, then came back in 2025 to take the award in both hand brewed and roasting categories at once, a rare double confirmed right in the shop's own Google listing name.

The room runs a quiet, wood toned, Japanese leaning look with a short list of single origin pour overs served hot or cold alongside a small case of handmade desserts. Beans are roasted on site and sold by the bag, wifi and outlets are on for anyone staying to work, and the shop closes on Tuesdays.
