Valet

The pale concrete counter at Valet with a white espresso machine, stacked cups and plates, and blue stools at the end of the bar

Valet is the corner coffee bar on the quieter southern end of King Street from Nic Theodore and the team at Catapult Coffee, who have roasted in St Peters since 2020. After a nine month fit out it opened as a calm, textured room of concrete, reclaimed timber furniture and handmade ceramics, with cups and mugs made by local makers and a design brief built around slowing down over a coffee.

The menu is short and led by the roaster's own traceable coffees, with espresso, a single origin option and batch brew alongside cold brew and matcha, and the beans are roasted just a few minutes away. Shelves hold bags and merch to take home, and the walls leave room for work by local artists, making it a proper south end neighbourhood stop.
