Ashfield Apothecary

Ashfield Apothecary opened in November 2019 in a tiny heritage shopfront beside Ashfield station, its green and red tiled facade and bright white room facing Charlotte Street. The name nods to the old chemist, on the idea that the morning coffee a barista prepares is its own kind of remedy, and the place has become a neighbourhood fixture for the inner west.
It began as a showcase for favourite Australian roasters such as Single O, Market Lane and Sample, and for international guests including Square Mile, La Cabra, The Barn, Koppi and Coffee Collective rotating through every couple of months. That curiosity has since grown into Apothecary Roasting, the team's own roasting label, whose single origins from Ethiopia, Colombia, Rwanda and beyond are now what goes in the cup, with a small rotating menu made in house to sit alongside.
