Volks Coffee

Volks spent years on Jalan MH Thamrin as one of Surabaya's early specialty coffee rooms, an industrial space with close to three dozen indoor seats and enough power outlets along the tables that laptop regulars never had to fight over one. In 2026 the shop relocated to Jalan Jambi, reopening under a Scandinavian leaning fit out that keeps the old menu structure, one page, coffee first, alongside tea, juice, snacks and a short food list.

The move folds in a bakery and heavier meal program under the SHU Artisans name, built on top of the original coffee bar rather than replacing it. The Jambi address is currently running a trial opening with shorter hours, likely to extend once the reopening settles in.
