Calibre Coffee Roasters

Calibre occupies a colonial era house on Jalan Walikota Mustajab that designer Eric Wibowo stripped back to raw concrete and dark wood, then filled with recycled timber shelving and hanging plants under a run of bare bulb pendants. Beans are roasted on site, and the counter turns them into everything from a straightforward cappuccino to a cortado, with a soundtrack of blues and jazz running underneath.
Big window sills along the street double as bar seating for anyone who wants a view of the road while working through an iced coffee or a French toast plate. The kitchen also turns out sandwiches, salads, pasta and cake, and the covered section outside the glass front is set aside for smokers, leaving the indoor room clear for anyone settling in with a coffee.
