Helmer Te og Kaffe

Four co owners, Erik Thorvik, Per Rune Brathetland, Siv Helen Osterhus Thorvik and Merete Brathetland, founded Helmer Te og Kaffe in 2017, turning a shared passion for tea and coffee from outside careers into a permanent shop after a run of pop up events around the city. The name blends two of the founders' names, Helen and Merete, into one word.

Customers choose their beans from a box at the bar and a barista prepares the drink to order, a format that lets the small Breigata shop rotate through a changing multi origin selection rather than settling on one house blend. Its own branded organic coffee is sold alongside the daily espresso and filter service, near Kvadraturen's cathedral.
