Round Boy Roasters

The concrete bar at Round Boy Roasters with three white stools, a chalkboard drinks menu and the ROUND BOY ROASTERS logo mural on the wall behind the brew station

Round Boy Roasters began in early 2018 when four friends turned a shared caffeine habit into a small batch roastery, and opened its espresso bar on the ground floor of a Jalan Bukit Merah HDB block in January 2021, in the neighbourhood of Tiong Bahru. There is a little standing and seating space inside, a breezy outdoor area with benches, and bean pickup lockers on the frontage that stay open around the clock.

Roasting happens once or twice a week, and the bar pours those beans as espresso and filter, from a chocolate forward Double Chocolate blend to light lots such as Ethiopia Guji Hambele with its blueberry notes. Small cakes baked on site, financiers, burnt cheesecake and banana bread, sit beside the coffee, and brewing gear and subscriptions are on offer for home.
