Rookie's Coffee Shop

Rookie's Coffee Shop is a neighbourhood specialty coffee bar and micro roaster on the ground floor of an HDB block on Bukit Merah Lane 1. Founder Junior Lim won the Singapore Aeropress Championship in 2019 and reached the final again in 2023, and the shop has grown from a first bar in 2022 into a second, roomier one that opened in 2024.

The counter pours its own roasted coffees as filter and espresso, with single producer lots from Ethiopia, Rwanda, Ecuador and beyond, plus a signature iced bandung espresso made with rose syrup. Orange stools line a brick fronted bar where the baristas chat through every cup, and bags of beans can be ordered to take the flavour home.
