Maxi Coffee Bar

Maxi Coffee Bar began in 2018 as a tiny coffee counter run by Denise Lum, and grew into a neighbourhood favourite when her school friend Joy Cheng joined in 2020. The bar settled into its current home on Club Street in October 2025, entered from the Ann Siang Hill side, with a foyer for espresso drinks, a Filter Bar room built around a terrazzo topped island, and an outdoor corner with bright blue seats made from recycled plastic.

Joy and Denise now buy green coffee directly from smallholder farmers in places such as Panama and Ethiopia and roast light for clarity, so the menu runs from single origin filter and espresso to playful drinks like an oat milk dirty and a cascara cola. Toasts, sandwiches and banana bread keep company, and bags of Maxi's own coffee sit on the shelf and online.
