Blue Bottle Coffee Yutong Cafe

The double height white room of Blue Bottle Coffee Yutong Cafe with a blue bottle shaped sign on the wall, a La Marzocco machine on a pale counter, a lit display of beans and boxes, a woven pendant lamp and a mezzanine gallery above exposed old plaster

Blue Bottle's first café on the Chinese mainland occupies a villa style building from 1926 that once housed workers of the Yutong flour mill, beside Suzhou Creek. The brick façade was kept as it stood, while the inside was rebuilt as a bright, white, double height space with a lounge on the upper floor.

A wide lawn lies at the entrance and a riverside walk starts just outside, which suits a slow morning by the creek. It opens at eight and closes at seven each day.
