Plácido y Grata

The white marble counter at Plácido y Grata with a glass pastry case, sourdough loaves on wooden shelves and globe pendant lamps

Behind the doors of a late nineteenth century mansion in the Casco Antiguo, the cafeteria at Plácido y Grata puts specialty coffee at the centre of the day. Beans are roasted by NOMAD in Barcelona and served as espresso, cortado, flat white and batch brew, with a manual filter option for a slower cup, all poured over a pale marble counter under globe pendant lamps.

Sourdough loaves from Pablo Conesa line the open shelves and go home in a paper bag if you ask, alongside fresh pastries, granola and chia bowls, and toasts made for a long breakfast. It is a quiet, beautifully composed room that feels a world away from the streets nearby, and one of the calmest places in Seville to begin a morning.
