Recovery Coffee Bar

Bagged single origin beans labeled Gogugu and Niguse Nare on a dark wooden shelf above menus pinned to the wall

Recovery Coffee Bar is run by Luke Yeo, a decorated latte art champion, out of a dark, industrial room a five minute walk from Ttukseom Station that leans into an early 2010s third wave look rather than the brighter, more minimal design that has taken over most of Seongsu-dong since. The bar centers on a Faema E61 espresso machine and beans from the Korean made Easyster roaster.

The shop's signature move is serving two single origin espressos side by side rather than one, an uncommon setup in Korea that lets a visitor compare beans directly instead of choosing between them. Dogs are welcome, and the cafe keeps shorter weekend hours than its weekday schedule.
