Fivebrewing Jamsil

Lit FIVEBREWING sign above a wood panelled coffee bar lined with grinders and espresso equipment, a barista working with her back to the camera

Fivebrewing traces back to 2012, when barista Do Hyung soo opened what the company calls Korea's first cafe dedicated purely to brewing coffee, before going on to win Korea Barista Awards Barista of the Year in both 2017 and 2019. The Jamsil counter sits inside the Jangmi shopping arcade in Sincheon dong, a plain lit sign and a wood panelled bar stacked with grinders and glassware rather than a sit down cafe room.

The bar pours both the house filter and espresso programs built around Do's five flavor concept, alongside limited bottlings that rotate between branches, including a Geisha blend that has been exclusive to this Jamsil counter. Drip bags and cold brew concentrate are bottled for takeaway, and the company now spends as much time on coffee consulting, bean distribution and tasting events as it does pulling shots across the counter.
