Coffee Libre Yeonnam

Coffee Libre is one of the companies that built Korea's specialty coffee scene, founded in 2009 by Suh Pil-hoon, the country's first Q grader, with the Yeonnam-dong shop opening in 2012 inside the old Dongjin Market. That original room closed in July 2023, and the brand reopened nearby in a renovated single family house next to the Gyeongui Line forest park, working with an outside design team for the first time and building the new space around barrier free access rather than nostalgia for the old market stall.

The bean list rotates through direct trade single origins bought straight from producers, brewed as hand poured filter, dutch style cold brew or straight espresso, with a longtime staff barista named Kim Myung-geun heading the location. The shop hosts a free public cupping every Tuesday night, keeps an outdoor terrace with room for dogs, and the renovated building includes step free flooring and an accessible restroom.
