Zoka Coffee University

Zoka's University cafe sits just around the corner from University Village on Northeast Blakeley Street, a long room where beautiful windows run the length of the shop, hardwood floors carry the sound of boots and a stone fireplace anchors the far end on chilly days. Exposed ductwork, pendant lamps and a curved white topped counter add an open, industrial feel.
The cafe pairs outstanding espresso with unlimited wifi, which has made it a staple for students. The coffee comes from Zoka's own roastery, where small batches are roasted each weekday on a 1963 German Probat iron roaster, and many of the single origins are bought directly from the farmers who grow them. Zoka opened its first cafe in Greenlake in 1997 and this location carries the same family direct trade approach.
