Sound & Fog

Justin Krebs, a former Starbucks employee, opened Sound & Fog in September 2016 with the help of a one hundred thousand dollar loan and coaching through Business Impact NW, building the West Seattle room out with a shou sugi ban charred wood interior. The shop deliberately rotates coffee, wine and beer through the same space, pulling from European guest roasters, Dak, Manhattan, the Czech roaster Fathers and Calendar among them, alongside single drip and two espresso options.
Heart Coffee Roasters has become the shop's year round anchor more recently, a shift from the Olympia Coffee beans a 2016 era feature described at opening, evolution rather than contradiction after roughly ten years in business. Wifi is deliberately not offered, and retail chocolate and ceramics are sold alongside the beans.
