Homage Coffee

Clinton and Rachel opened this Ballard Avenue room as a brick and mortar in early 2025 after running it as a pop up, taking over the space that had housed Root, a plant and coffee shop, for four years before its owners sold up. A multi roaster program pulls on Italian and Australian coffee traditions rather than sticking to a single house style, and every piece of ceramics in the room, cups included, is handmade by co owner Rachel under her own Hot Cold Heavy Light pottery line and sold to anyone who wants to take a piece home.

A shaken espresso called the Shakerato, built with syrup and lemon zest, is the drink most write ups single out. Being one of the newest specialty rooms in the city, the shop is still building a documented track record, but the space and the ceramics angle already set it apart from the standard Ballard coffee counter.
