Ghost Note Coffee Capitol Hill

The wooden bar at Ghost Note Coffee Capitol Hill with a La Marzocco machine, three grinders full of beans, a vase of dried flowers and glass pendant lamps against teal and cream walls

Ghost Note opened on Bellevue Avenue in March 2017 and quickly became known for treating the coffee bar like a cocktail bar, with expertly extracted espresso, house made jug drinks and signature drinks presented with real care. The name nods to a musical note that carries rhythm but no pitch, and the room is a small, moody Capitol Hill corner that matches it.

The menu leans on drinks such as the Lush Life, made with almond milk and orange blossom honey, and the Sun Ship, a bright mix of grapefruit, rosemary and coconut water, alongside the award winning chocolate the shop is proud of. Bags from rotating roasters sit on the retail shelf, and orders can be placed ahead for pickup. The shop opens at seven most weekdays and at eight on weekends.
