Boon Boona Coffee Overlook Walk

Boon Boona's Overlook Walk cafe is a glass fronted pavilion at 1515 Western Avenue with views of the Seattle skyline and Elliott Bay, the newest room from a roaster whose home base is in Renton. Folding glass walls and wide paving make it a bright stop on the waterfront, open every day from eight in the morning until eight at night.

The company sources coffee exclusively from Africa and works with growers, cooperatives and exporters across Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi and Kenya, aiming to send a larger share of the profit back to the farms. At the bar that means carefully crafted African coffees poured with the same sense of community that runs through its other cafes, which are modeled on the slower pace of the coffee houses of East Africa.
