The Wild Fox

The Wild Fox is a Japanese focused specialty cafe near Embarcadero, opened at the start of 2026 in a former cafe space that had stood empty for years. The small room is wrapped in earthy green and greets guests with a collection of ornate cups and drippers, and the bar runs a La Marzocco espresso machine, a Hario Switch for pour overs and a grinder set aside for frozen coffee.

The coffee is roasted in Japan by Glitch Coffee, Oubaitouri and Koloro Coffee Japan and imported several times a week, then frozen to keep it fresh, while the house blend is roasted by Be Bright Coffee. The cafe pairs the carefully selected coffees with Japanese inspired food and drinks, and describes the experience as espresso and stillness, sweetness and bloom. It is open from seven to five on weekdays and from eight to two on weekends.
