The Coffee Movement

Reef Bessette and Bryan Overstreet, who met working specialty coffee roughly a decade before founding this shop together in early 2019, run a multi roaster program built around a Saint Frank house blend alongside rotating domestic and international guest roasters. Both have competition pedigree, Bessette placing second at the 2022 New York Coffee Festival barista competition and Overstreet placing fifth at the 2022 US Barista Championship, and batch brew is stored in vacuum sealed Zojirushi canisters to cut down on waste.

A second, Chinatown adjacent location has grown into something more ambitious, running a slow bar tasting menu that expanded further in 2026, evidence the concept has legs beyond this original Inner Richmond room. Vegan baked goods are on offer alongside the coffee program at the Balboa Street flagship.
