Sextant Coffee Roasters

Kinani Ahmed, born in Addis Ababa, worked in biotech at UCSF before founding Sextant in 2014, at the time one of the only Ethiopian owned coffee roasters in the country by his own account. The roasting program works directly with farmers across Ethiopia, Kenya and Colombia, sourcing choices that show up in a menu leaning African and Central American forward rather than resting on a default house blend.

The Wired Gandhi, espresso pulled into chai, is the drink most associated with the shop, roasted and served from this Folsom Street room alongside further Sextant locations on Valencia Street and 3rd Street.
