Ritual Coffee Roasters Valencia

The red awninged Ritual Coffee Roasters storefront on Valencia Street with the sunken ship parklet in front

Ritual's Valencia Street cafe is where the company began in 2005, a former furniture store on the south end of the Valencia corridor. It was remodeled in 2013 into a bright, airy room the team likens to a coffee church, with gardens out front and parklets built like sunken ships, and it remains the company's guiding light.

The address now trades as Ritual Coffee + General Store, selling goods from small local businesses alongside the coffee bar and the roaster's own bags. The coffee is roasted at the company's Howard Street roastery, a former door hardware factory with a vintage German Probat roaster. The cafe opens at six thirty every day and closes at seven from Monday to Thursday and at eight from Friday to Sunday.
