Out There Coffee Roasters

The round pink and yellow Out There Coffee Roasters sunburst sign hanging from a pale blue Victorian facade

Out There Coffee Roasters began in 2020 as a run of local pop ups before opening its first cafe on Fillmore Street in the Lower Haight in 2024. The shop hangs a round sunburst sign from a pale Victorian, and inside it serves rotating coffees, seasonal drinks and fresh pastries, with a menu that runs from espresso, cappuccino and pour over to matcha, chai and an espresso spritz.

The beans are roasted weekly in small batches in the Bay Area and change with the season, with single origins recently drawn from Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Peru. The founder started out as a barista and set out to make coffee that feels approachable, in a space where everyone belongs. The cafe opens at seven thirty on weekdays and at eight thirty on weekends and closes at four.
