Ikon Coffee

The Ikon Coffee cafe interior with a sweeping pale wood counter, a yellow espresso machine and shelves of coffee bags

Ikon Coffee began at farmers markets, sharing its roasts with the community, and its cafe at the corner of 22nd and Mississippi Streets in Dogpatch is the company's first flagship, built from the ground up as a place for baristas to learn and grow. The room has a sweeping counter in pale wood and white, a bright yellow espresso machine, open shelves of coffee bags and a latticed ceiling panel overhead.

Ikon sources for quality and taste and roasts to a medium level for a full bodied, sweet and juicy cup, and it rotates its coffees every ninety days so nobody gets bored. A line of rare, high quality lots is sold under the Especiale name. The cafe sits on the ground floor of Knox Landing and opens daily from seven in the morning to five in the afternoon.
