Flywheel Coffee Roasters

Aquiles Guerrero was born on a coffee farm in Nicaragua, started as a barista at twelve and was already roasting by eighteen, carrying on a family trade his relatives had run at Martha & Bros. Coffee in San Francisco since the late 1980s. He and his wife Marissa opened Flywheel in a former bike shop across from Golden Gate Park, hand building the interior out of reclaimed materials and tucking a hidden patio behind the main room.
Beans never sit on the shelf longer than about ten days, and the counter runs pour over, siphon, cold brew and nitro alongside standard espresso, a wider format menu than most neighborhood rooms attempt. The Haight location keeps a family run, unhurried character that traces directly back to Guerrero's own childhood on the farm.
