Artis Coffee

Artis Coffee is a coffee bar and roastery on Fourth Street in West Berkeley, where the beans are roasted in the cafe every week. A slatted wood ceiling with strip lights floats above a long menu wall of single origin espresso, cortados, cappuccinos and lattes, and plants and wooden display boxes full of brewing gear line the walls.

The company treats the cup as a mix of geography, culture and flavor, and describes its approach as exploration, engagement and enjoyment of all things coffee. It sources coffees from around the world, sustainably and ethically, and sells a curated range of brewing equipment and accessories, with staff on hand to help match a method to a home setup. The cafe opens at eight on weekdays and at nine on weekends, closing at five and six.
